Kim tagged me. I'm supposed to post the fourth picture in my fourth folder. However, my fourth folder, only has this picture:

Memoir

Kim tagged me with a six word memoir. So to humor her, even though she isn't staying in Colorado long enough for me to go visit, here is mine. And you all will be so shocked.

I am exercising my "very pregnant" status to break the rules and not pass this one on.

Six non-important things/habits/quirks about me:

1. I love the smell of coffee, but can't stand the taste. Wish I did, as I'd fit in with people around here better, but I just can't seem to develop it. But if someone would make it every morning just for the smell - mmmmmm.

2. I eat Reese's Peanut Butter Cups around the circumference first, then the peanut butter center last.

3. I wore a size 9 shoe from the time I was 10 until my fourth baby came along. Now I'm a 9.5.

4. When we got married I had around 50 pairs of shoes, maybe more. No kidding. And no, I don't still have that many shoes.

5. I chew on my lower lip when I am reading.

6. I like to rinse potatoes off before peeling them. Not sure why, I don't scrub them, so they aren't clean. I just like the feel of them better that way.

I know I'm breaking a rule here, but nearly everyone I know who blogs has already been tagged, so I am not going to pass this on. Sorry guys, but you know I'm just a rebel at heart. :-)

Bits and Bites

Sorry Kim - I think you jinxed me! I have not had a spare moment in the last two days to blog, so I promise I wasn't trying to dodge the tag.

Just tonight I had to take Brynna to a Pediatric Urgent Care clinic because an insect bite she received in the last couple of days had obviously become infected. It had spread from about the size of a quarter at supper last night to 10 times that size, was red, hot, and swollen so much it hurt her to wear sandals. Thankfully the doctor believes we caught it in time before IV drugs were needed, although it is still a possibility if it get worse or she starts running a fever. We were sent home with a script for some really strong antibiotics, which the doc said tastes really bad. Thank the Lord for the flavors CVS will add for $2.99! Lora, I so understand better what happened to you a few months ago!

OK Kim, my five favorite restaurants are, in no particular order:

SONIC - Route 44 Dr. Pepper, easy ice. 'Nuff said.

GRINGO'S - family Mexican food place. If we take the family out, this is where we go. All seven of us can eat for around $30-$35.

PANDA EXPRESS - I LOVE their orange chicken. Stay away from the spring rolls though.

JOE'S CRAB SHACK - This has been Aubrey's (my friend, not my daughter) and my official girls-night-out restaurant. . . until last night. Last night Aub and I went out for the first time in a long time, only to find out that Joe's has done away with the twice baked potato! We both always order the coconut shrimp, twice baked potato and a salad. And Dr. Pepper of course. But Joe's has changed the menu and no longer has the potatoes. I tell you, we felt like crying. We also decided that the next GNO, we are going to Red Lobster, who now carries coconut shrimp as well. And if they don't have twice baked potatoes, then we won't care, because they have the best cheese garlic rolls ever. For those of you who know Aubrey you will understand how good those potatoes were: they were mixed with BACON and she still ate it and loved it! It was a sad turn of events indeed.

ANYPLACE WHERE SOMEONE ELSE COOKS MY FOOD FOR ME, BRINGS IT TO ME, ALONG WITH AN ENDLESS SUPPLY OF DR. PEPPER, AND WHERE NO ONE EXPECTS ME TO CUT UP THEIR FOOD FOR THEM - this would be anyplace that Kelly takes me (or where I go with Aubrey) sans children.

Because I think that every mommy of little ones I know would agree with me on this last one, I don't think I'll tag anyone this time.

I've been tagged

Cathi over At Granny's House has tagged me with a Random 7 meme. So here are 7 random things about little ol' me.

• I am absolutely, positively, completely and utterly TERRIFIED of snakes. I had an incident as a child and now I cannot even watch the slithery things on tv. As a matter of fact, writing about them is making my back crawl right now!
• When I was 18 I spent 3 weeks in Kiev, Ukraine on a mission trip. I also spent a few days in Moscow on the way in and out. This was in '92, right after the USSR disintegrated but the infrastructure had not been replaced. At the time the only way to fly to a city like Kiev was to fly into a main city like Moscow and the fly Aeroflat, the Soviet (now Russian) airlines within the former Soviet block. Aeroflat was, ahem, highly unreliable and unsafe, so we took a train from Moscow to Kiev and back three weeks later. We had old-timey berth rooms, with four bunks that swung down from the walls. Actually, the swaying of the train made for quite a soothing night's sleep.
• The town I grew up in had 2 high schools: the one good in football (you might have heard of us) and the other was the "AP" high school. They got all the AP classes to help students take AP and CLEP tests to get college credit. They really lorded this academic superiority over us. But our senior year, guess who had the last laugh? Not only did our school have more 5's on the AP tests (that's the highest score you could get) than they did, but there was only one National Merit Finalist in the whole town. Yep, it boggled my mind. A reporter even came out to my house to interview me, and he brought a photographer to take a picture of me. It ran as the lead story in the education section with a 3x5 color picture.
• Even though I am also scared of heights, I have always wanted to go parasailing. (I know, that's alot of fears. But I am also almost as claustrophobic as I am scared of snakes, so I really don't like small elevators in high rise buildings! And you can bet I will never, EVER watch Snakes on a Plane!)
• I just don't "get" scrap booking. While I think the finished are products are very cute, I can not imagine spending the hours it would take to accomplish them. In fact, I can't even manage to keep up with putting pictures in a plain Jane photo album with the slots! Those of you who think I have every inch of my life organized, filed, and indexed, DON'T LOOK in the armoire in my bedroom, or all the pictures that need to be put in an album might fall over on top of you! Thank goodness for digital cameras that allow you to copy the images onto cd!
• I think it is absolutely amazing how many problems that Dr. Pepper and chocolate (dark, of course) will solve.
• When I am sick I love to watch the appendices of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. In fact if Kelly comes home from work and I am laying on the couch watching one, he doesn't ask, "are you sick?" He just asks, "What am I making for supper?"
